Zumba time!

Activities this month - 'Active Month' included aerobics outside before we came in to class in the morning and Zumba. Mrs Cameron from Renfrew High School came along to one of our gym times and guided us through a number of different routines. We were all very hot and felt our hearts beating quickly when we had finished! One of our favourite songs to dance to was "Gangnam Style" - Mrs Wallace joined in with this one, but she wasn't as good as us with the moves!

Spring Discos!

Primary 1a had a fabulous time recently partying at the Spring disco!! We had time in between the dances and games to have a snack with our friends in the dinner hall - we needed a wee rest!!

Food Group Mobiles

We have been talking about another right we have as children. Article 24 (Health and Health services) states: Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment so that children can stay healthy. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this. Mahkena has helped us to learn all about nutritious food and balanced diets. We have looked at where food comes from, food groups and food packaging. Mrs Wallace set our class a technology challenge of displaying each food group in a way that told visitors to our class what a healthy diet should be like. In cooperative home-teams, we designed mobiles. As a group, we had to fill in a design brief, collect and sort materials, and devise a way for our mobile to hand together. Didn't we do well??!
