Halloween Disco

This week, primary one attended their first ever after school disco! The discos were for Halloween - don't our costumes look great?!

New Topic

Our topic this term is Toys. Primary 1, with Miss McCabe's help, created a Learning Plan for the topic. This will help us learn about things we want to know about, as well as showing Miss McCabe what we know already.
The first task we had was to decide on our favourite toy. We had to show this as a group drawing. Our groups created a poster called a 'placemat'. We had to work as a team, listen to each other and remember our group roles. Some of our primary 7 buddies came down to give us some help.
Miss McCabe and Mrs O'Brien were very impressed with how well we worked together!

End of Term Reward

Miss McCabe was delighted recently when Mrs Weiland visited our class. Mrs Weiland presented every single person in primary 1a with an excellent bahaviour certificate for term 1. We have had no red traffic lights, and no one has been on the green more than 5 times. Miss McCabe is very proud of us!
As a reward for being so well behaved, we were all able to attend the reward disco. Our class had lots of fun!!

Visit to Trinity Church

Primary 1a and primary 1b went on a special trip to Trinity Church recently. Our R.M.E. topic this term is Welcoming a Baby. Mr Steele told us all about what a baby needs and how a baby is baptised. Our class got the chance to ask questions about how a baby is welcomed into the church.
We also got the chance to explore the church. Mr Steele was kind enough to tell us all about the pulpit, the communion table, the baptismal font and the lectern. You can see from our pictures we had a fantastic time!
