Living Things

Our new topic this term is Living Things/New Life.

When we were making our learning plan for this topic, we decided that we want to learn about lots of minibeasts like caterpillars and frogs. We thought that it would be really interesting to watch the caterpillars develop into butterflies.



The caterpillars arrived and we have been having a good look at them. They are still very small but already we can see them growing.

We also wanted to plant some flowers to help us learn about what they need for healthy growth. We planted iris and cornflower bulbs and are taking care to water them and make sure that they are getting enough light. We will make some name tags to decorate our 'pots'.

We are recording what we learn about what plants need in our special booklets.

As part of our active maths we can practise our money handling skills in our garden centre role play area.
